about

Winter is the season of darkness, but not of gloom. It is the season of cold, but not of bitterness.

In the Spring, the trees – and all of nature – are in their glory. The leaves dance, the blossoms sing and if we listen, they have so much to tell us.

In the darkness as we near the Winter Solstice, when we ask the trees for their wisdom, they might just answer….

“This is our season of dreaming.
We will speak again in Spring,
when it is warm, and we have leaves.”
-Wayne Porter

Bev’s friend Wayne posted this photo on Facebook in the fall of 2013. It was taken with a three-year-old cell phone near his home in Ohio. She casually posted a comment on the photo… “what are trees saying to you?” He responded with this beautiful verse, and we wrote the song within the next two hours.

lyrics

It was cold, and the trees stood quiet.
We asked for their wisdom and they replied…
“This is our season of slow dreaming.
We will speak again when it is warm, and we have leaves.”

Season of Dreaming

In the beauty of the dark
we’ll find a reason for a spark
A thoughtful contemplation
of a way to make our mark

In a drift of winter snow
somewhere deep inside we’ll know
It takes a little time
before a seed begins to grow

So we’ll take it slow
In our season dreaming

Dream
Dream

And when the frost begins to thaw
we’ll remember what we saw
In the silence of a winter
filled with gratitude and awe

There’ll be time enough to speak
come the warming of the spring
When our leaves can’t help but dance
and our souls can’t help but sing

So we’ll take it slow
In our season of dreaming

Dream
Dream
Dreaming
